April 29-30, 2026 Academician Yin Zhouping, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dean of MSE at HUST, delivered a popular science lecture at Shaodong No.1 High School and Dongkou No.1 High School in Shaoyang, Hunan, inspiring more than 2,000 young students.
Under the theme Humanoid Robots: Future Unlocked, Academician Yin introduced cutting-edge developments, key challenges and HUST’s research progress in humanoid robotics, and elaborated on talent cultivation in the artificial intelligence era. He integrated frontier technology with national aspirations, encouraging students to strengthen foundational learning, foster interdisciplinary thinking and strive for scientific excellence.
In the interactive session, he answered students’ inquiries on robotics technology and future growth opportunities with patience and insight. As an alumnus of Dongkou No.1 High School, he recalled his student years and exchanged views with teachers and students.
It is reported that HUST has been earnestly implementing the AI + Education Action Plan, continuously extending high-quality university educational resources to middle schools, inspiring youth to embrace scientific aspirations.
