My journey to HUST in Wuhan began with a long flight from Germany, marking the start of an exciting adventure. The first two days were a bit overwhelming as we navigated through unfamiliar routines like setting up warm water and electricity in our rooms. The process involved multiple steps, such as loading money onto our student IDs and using those cards to pay for electricity. Despite the initial stress, these shared experiences brought us closer together.
Exploring the campus and interacting with local students, who were incredibly friendly and helpful, made us feel more at home. Our first official day started with an orientation meeting in the lecture hall, where we learned about the plans for the program. Visiting the university museum gave us insights into HUST's rich history and its collaborations with international universities. The tour of the experimental laboratory was particularly fascinating, as we got to see the practical work of undergraduate students and even had the chance to interact with them.
Overall, while the start was a bit rocky, the camaraderie formed among participants and the first day's activities have made me look forward to the rest of the program even more.

First Weekend Trip to Yellow Crane Tower
Our first weekend trip during the summer school program at HUST University was to the famous Yellow Crane Tower. The trip was an amazing experience, offering a blend of historical exploration and cultural immersion.
We spent a significant amount of time taking photos and enjoying the panoramic views from the top of the tower. The evening light show at the tower was particularly impressive, adding a magical touch to the historical site. The surrounding monuments were a testament to the rich history of Wuhan and China as a whole.
One of the highlights of the trip was our interaction with a group of Chinese tourists from another city. They were fascinated by our group, and one of the older women requested a group photo with us. This unexpected encounter was both humorous and heartwarming, showcasing the friendly nature of the locals.
After visiting the tower, we ventured into the city to explore the local cuisine. The bustling streets were filled with a variety of food offerings, giving us a sense of the vibrant community. We concluded our culinary adventure at a small restaurant known for Wuhan's famous hot dry noodles. The dish was delicious and provided a perfect end to our day.
Overall, our trip to the Yellow Crane Tower was a fantastic introduction to the cultural and historical richness of Wuhan. The combination of historical exploration, cultural exchange, and culinary delights made it a memorable experience. I am excited to see what other adventures await us during the remainder of the program.
