On the morning of June 28th, the opening ceremony of 2025 “Discover at HUST” AI Robot International Summer School, was held grandly in the Mingde Conference Hall of the Wutongyu Wenxue Center. The opening ceremony was hosted by Prof. Chen Rong, the Vice Dean of MSE, with the participation of Prof. Zhou Liping, Chair of the School of International Education, Ms. Zhang Fen, Chairman of MSE, Prof. Zeng Xiangrui and Dr. Xu Wei of MSE, Vice Director Li Zhiyong and Engineer Wang Lin from the Engineering Practice Innovation Center, as well as 120 international students and volunteers of the summer school.
Firstly, all participants took a group photo with university leaders such as President You Zheng and Vice President Zhang Yonghui. Following that, Chen Rong announced the official start of the opening ceremony, and Chairman Zhang Fen delivered an enthusiastic welcome speech. She first extended a warm welcome to the international students who came from afar. After briefly introducing the development status of MSE, she emphasized that AI Robot International Summer School has strengthened the exchange between MSE and world-renowned universities. She encouraged students to learn across fields, integrate traditional engineering knowledge with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, broaden their horizons, and face the future.
Subsequently, Prof. Zhou Liping, Chair of the School of International Education, delivered a speech. She expressed that the International Education School has been committed to providing international students with excellent academic resources and cultural experiences. She hopes to further deepen international students' understanding of Chinese culture and technology, and promote mutual exchange and learning between Chinese and foreign academics and cultures.
Prof. Zeng Xiangrui, the teachers’ representative, shared his research achievements and insights in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics, encouraging students to actively participate in scientific research projects and cultivate innovative spirit and practical abilities.
Ms. Yan Wei, Director of the Admissions Office of the School of International Education, introduced in detail "Discover at HUST" program and scholarship funding policies, providing guidance for international students interested in furthering studies at HUST.
Chen Rong expressed gratitude to the organizations that provided strong support for the summer school and to the frontline staff who worked tirelessly. Finally, Chen Rong announced the official opening of "Discover at HUST" AI Robot International Summer School.
